Elyse Quartini holds both a Doctorate and a Masters of Physical Therapy and is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. She has been treating athletes of all levels and ages for almost 15 years and is passionate about how the body moves. What makes her a unique physical therapy practitioner is her genuine investment in each individual patient to help them heal and meet their life’s physical goals.
Her special skill sets in manual therapy techniques and specific movement analysis enable her to treat holistically, precisely and effectively. Finding the cause of the problem is the most important step to full recovery. Elyse spends time determining the deeper issue to ensure not only restoration of the body but to educate each patient to prevent re-injury.
Growing up on the east coast, Elyse has always had a love of the ocean, from summers on the beach to over 10 years of competitive swimming to lifeguarding in Cape Hatteras, NC. She has been working with sports and orthopedic injuries for 15 years using manual techniques, movement analysis and movement training. Her biomechanics interest shifted more specifically to the sport of surfing as she began treating more surf injuries. She is currently working with the UC State San Marcos Surf Research Team and Fulcrum Surf School to further study surf injuries and rehabilitation.
My extra-curriculars have always been sports or play of some kind. My first “hobby” is taking photos of surfers from the water. I’ve always loved the sport of surfing and being in the water and now I am documenting other people’s talent.
